RINGRAZIAMENTI A VALERIO NERA

Life is full of changes, project management is change per se, so we should be used to it.
But it’s still not so easy to accept a change when it means to loose somebody of the IPMA family.
I was Vice President for certification for four years and in addition I was also working as a validator for IPMA. In these roles I worked closely together with Valerio Nera. I always appreciated the enormous contribution Valerio made to the certification body of ANIMP and his steady support of the IPMA certification panel meetings linked to the IPMA council of delegates meetings. But it was more, Valerio always was a friend, it was more than a professional relationship – he cares. I see his well-deserved retirement with mixed feelings, sad to loose an amiable member of our IPMA family, but happy that he will have the possibility to enjoy his family and his many other interests.

As Project Managers, we are all well used to change in both our professional and private lives. One such change that affects the IPMA Family is the retirement of Valerio Nera as Certification Director of ANIMP. I have known Valerio from my earliest days as a member of the Family: he made me feel welcome and showed himself to be not only a Delegate but a highly effective one. Over the years, Valerio has made a considerable contribution to ANIMP in the field of Certification. He has also made a significant contribution to IPMA as well where he has provided such able support to me during my time as President and to the Council of Delegates at our meetings round the project world. I am fortunate to count him as a personal friend and his retirement will be greeted by his many friends and colleagues with sadness that we will be losing his cheerful, elegant contributions but with joy that he now has time to enjoy his many other interests.
